General Genealogy Web Sites

Two indispensable databases for U.S.-based genealogy research are Ancestry Library and Heritage Quest. The KUA librarians can help arrange access for students. Local public libraries usually have at least one of these databases. There is an excellent description and comparison of these two databases here

In addition to Ancestry Library, the following are reliable resources.

Keep in mind that most genealogical records are not online, and that your older relatives can be a great source for names and other information.

Off campus?

For access to the databases from off campus, email the librarians for passwords.
