On the homepage under the Browse Topics heading, take a look at the section called "Countries, Cultures, and Civilizations." The database has pulled together resources for many ancient dynasties and civilizations including the Ottoman Empire, Ancient Rome, Mesopotamia, the Han, Song, and Ming Dynasties, and more.

Salem Press ebooks
This collection of ebooks contains two series that might be helpful. The "Great Events from History" series is divided up by time period, from the ancient world up to the year 2000. The "Countries, Peoples, and Cultures" series is divided up into regions: East Asia, Central & South Asia, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, etc. Within each volume you will find entries for different countries within that region. You can search both series simultaneously with a keyword search (Assyria, Japan, etc.).
Oxford Companion to Classical Civilization
This ebook provides articles on many different aspects of ancient Greece and Rome. For example, if you are looking for information on city planning, you can find articles on Architecture, Urbanism, and Sanitation.
Worldmark Encyclopedia of the Nations
